About animaT1D

We create type 1 diabetes education videos using animation, answering one question at a time. The videos are short, easy to understand and in a visual story format.

Our journey so far: Since launching our nonprofit in Jan 2024 and our YouTube channel in May 2024, we have made 17 videos with many more to come. The current videos focus on basic concepts: basics, carbs, sick day management etc. We shared this library of resources with diabetes educators at their local Pacific Northwest chapter conference in October 2024, and with families with type 1 diabetes through Facebook groups and social media. We collaborated with a diabetes advocate in Zambia to create diabetes awareness videos. We have started collaborations to create a nutrition series, mental health series and are also working on translating to Spanish. We are taking requests: suggestions welcome!

Our Vision

Our vision

What are we trying to achieve?

Our vision is to create a free and easily accessible library of resources covering the different aspects of type 1 diabetes: a one-stop shop where you can understand any concept in its entirety in small bites of information. The topics are grouped by playlists like basics, carbs and sick day management, so they are easy to navigate. This is for anyone: people living with type 1, caregivers, diabetes educators, school nurses, providers in limited care settings looking for resources for their patients, and beyond. We are working on translating it to Spanish and will have those out very soon. Stay tuned!

Please consider donating! With your help, we can keep creating videos, continue spreading the word in the community by sharing this at clinics and conferences, and translate the videos into Spanish and many other languages.

Double your impact! Ask your employer if they can match your contribution!

Our Origin Story

animaT1D is the culmination of the vision of two driven women: Molly and Radhika, to tell the story of type 1 diabetes through visual stories.
